The Big Mobile Phones for Christmas – Sony Ericsson X1 Vs Nokia
As everybody gears up for Christmas, it’s time to take a look at the top-end mobile phones that are going to be vying for your attention this year: the Nokia N96 and the Sony Ericsson X1.
Sony Ericsson X1 vs Nokia N96 – which should you drop your cash on?
So, with both the Nokia N96 and the Sony Ericsson X1 available in time for Christmas, which of these high-end mobile phones should you spend your money on? Well, in truth, it depends on what you want most from your mobile phone. If you’re the kind person who loves mobile phones that entertain you every second of every day, with the latest TV shows, the best games, the coolest music, and all the best multimedia, then the Nokia N96 is undoubtedly the mobile phone for you. If, however, you want the better all-round mobile phone, with far superior messaging (due to its QWERTY keyboard), better internet access (thanks to the Opera browser) and a nicer body, then the Sony Ericsson X1 is the one you should be seriously looking at right now!
Sony Ericsson X1 – the sleek and the serious
Taking on the Nokia N96 is the latest mobile phone from Sony Ericsson, and it’s a phone of firsts. It’s the first in the new Xperia range of mobile phones. It’s the first of Sony Ericsson’s mobile phones to be built around Windows Mobile. It’s the Sony Ericsson X1, and it’s stunning. Clad in a premium metal body, the Sony Ericsson X1 takes Windows Mobile and makes it sexy, using a brand new panels interface. It’s slick, it’s fast, it’s incredibly easy to use, and put simply, the Sony Ericsson X1 seems to be one of the best mobile phones ever made. You’re also going to be looking at some pretty cool features with the Sony Ericsson X1: 3 megapixel camera, GPS, a fabulous multimedia player, and lightning-fast HSDPA internet. This really is the mobile phone that lets you work, rest and play.
Nokia N96 – the multimedia monster
Nokia’s Nseries of mobile phones have been a worldwide success story. From the early days of the N70, they’ve always been the top-end of Nokia’s portfolio of mobile phones. And now, they have a new flagship: the stunning Nokia N96. Picking up where the N95 8Gb left off, the Nokia N96 comes complete with a 5 megapixel camera, GPS and super-fast, HSDPA internet access. On top of that, you now get 16Gb of memory in the Nokia N96, something that only a handful of mobile phones have. As for why it has that much memory… well, the Nokia N96 is very focused on one particular feature: multimedia/video. The video playback is stunning, and it’s the first mobile phone to let you watch and download video from BBC iPlayer, straight out of the box. Having the Nokia N96, then, really is the equivalent of having a little portable cinema in your pocket. And how many mobile phones can you say that about?!
