Sidekick-Inspired Nokia N98 Spotted | PhoneReport v2.0
ESPOO, Finland - Handset giant Nokia may lack a major booth at the ongoing Mobile World Congress, but that's not stopping the rumour mills from grinding some previously unseen Nokia handsets over the weekend. The latest Nokia smartphone to have surfaced on the web is the Sidekick-inspired 4" slider, understood to be the flagship N98.
With the above device failing to get a mention from Nokia conference at the Mobile World Congress, the 2010 Christmas launch seems plausible, considering the time gap between the ongoing conference and the biggest holiday season of the year. However, the Sidekick-inspired design adds some doubt over the credibility of the leak.
While the leaked image shows a S60 5th edition homescreen as seen on Nokia N97 in the landscape mode, the keyboard layout has gotten better with a four-row QWERTY instead of the three-row as seen on the Nokia N97 and N97-mini. While the rest of the specifications are at best unknown at this juncture of time, Be-Geek, the source of the leak, has revealed that the device will ship with 32GB of onboard storage at a price tag of €450 (US$620) over the 2010 Christmas season.
Whether the leaked device is indeed the Nokia N98 or a rendering of clever Photoshop skills, will be known only in the last quarter of this year.
